Opened as Royals Stadium on April 10, 1973, Kauffman is recognized throughout baseball as one of the game's most beautiful ballparks.  The MLB team, the Kansas City Royals celebrated their 38th season at Kauffman Stadium in 2010.  Kauffman Stadium's unique features include a a 322-foot wide water spectacular. The water spectacular is the largest privately funded fountain in the world.  In keeping with the architecture of the stadium, the existing water spectacular featuring cascading water now extends near the left field corner.

Kauffman has always been one of the crown jewel ballparks of Major League Baseball. Hosting 63,761,065 baseball fans since 1973, "The K", with its signature look, has proudly stood the test of time and will for seasons to come.

Also a football fan?  You're in luck, the Kansas City Chiefs NFL football team's home is right next to Kauffman Stadium making sports fans travels very easy.  Take part in the KC Chiefs exciting football season in Arrowhead Stadium, where the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals played the inaugural game at Arrowhead Stadium on August 12, 1972.  These days, fans will be greeted with numerous new areas including the Founder's Plaza, the Horizon Level, the Chiefs Sports Lab, the Chiefs Hall of Honor, a Founder's Club, a luxurious Club Level and a new team store.
